No. All speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech run entirely offline on your device. You can use LiteTrans in Airplane Mode. Language packs must be downloaded once via system settings, but after that everything works offline.
Go to the language picker in LiteTrans and tap the download icon next to any language. The system will prompt you to download the offline language pack. Alternatively, go to Settings → Apps → Translation → Languages on your iPhone.
Make sure you're using the built-in microphone or a supported headset. Background noise, distance from the mic, and device case can affect volume. Try speaking clearly and closer to the device.
Swipe left on any record in the History tab to delete it, or long-press on individual sentences in a transcript. Deleting the app from your iPhone will remove all data.
LiteTrans supports 20 languages including Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, Hindi, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
